Terminal 3 på flygplatsen i Beijing
Produkt: , PCA T5 EXCEL one4all, TE 0105 one4all, x-touchPANEL
Ljuset som ska att belysa den extraordinära arkitekturen i Terminal 3 på Bejings flygplats styrs av ett antal av Tridonics produkter.
The terminal has been constructed by Air China, China’s national flag carrier and leading airline, and features lavish hospitality facilities for travellers, enhanced by highly controllable lighting that can easily be adjusted through Tridonic’s x-touchPANEL to create different scenes to suit moods and activities.
Lighting control with the x-touchPANEL
The x-touchPANEL works in conjunction with the DALI TOUCHPANEL to enable task and mood-specific lighting scenes to be programmed and automatically activated in any DALI lighting control system. Even greater versatility is provided by the DALI sequencer, which allows lighting moods (scenes) to be called up one after the other – automatically.
Crucially, the system is very easy to use so that airport maintenance staff are able to change lighting scenes without any specialist training, enabling lighting in the terminal lounges to be adjusted very quickly to changing conditions. Furthermore, up to 99 independent lighting sequences and 16 lighting scenes, can be preprogrammed into the system so that a wide range of pre-set lighting configurations is readily available.
Airport facilities management staff also have the option of controlling the lighting manually or using calendar-controlled sequences. So, for example, the lighting may change automatically through the day to suit the changing orientation of the sun. It can also be changed to adjust to different lighting conditions during the year as well as user specific situations during the week.
A DALI-based system
Needless to say, the system is also able to incorporate energy-saving routines to minimise lighting electrical consumption. Throughout the airport there is a mixture of T5 fluorescent lighting and low voltage halogen, using appropriate Tridonic products to optimise control. Fluorescent lighting, for instance, uses PCA ballasts to provide effective interfacing with the DALI network, while halogen lighting uses TE one4all units. Another major benefit of the DALI-based system is that it allows the lighting to be monitored from a central location – vital given the vast size of the terminal.
The Tridonic solution was selected by BeiJing E-action S&T Co. following a lighting control workshop delivered by Tridonic for the Beijing Industry University Architectural Design & Research Institute. The solution was then proposed to Air China Limited.
Beijing Airport’s Terminal 3 covers a vast area, with many thousands of light fittings. In harnessing the flexibility of the DALI network through Tridonic PCA EXCEL one4all lp ballasts the airport has a comprehensive monitoring and control solution that provides full control of the lighting throughout the facility. In addition, the innovative x-touchPANEL and DALI TOUCHPANEL provide airport staff with the ability to alter lighting moods in areas where passengers are relaxing before their flights, enhancing the experience of travelling with Air China.
